Thousands of additional recycling bins are coming to public spaces, and lab materials are getting a second life.
A growing Oregon-based company that makes injection molded plastic carriers for the food and beverage industry has been steadily boosting its use of post-consumer recycled content in recent years.
PepsiCo says it will work to eliminate packaging materials that inhibit sorting or contaminate downstream recycling streams. The global food and beverage company also said it will redesign the film in its snack packaging to enable its recovery.
Projects to recover health-care plastics are highlighted, and greater volumes of packaging for ready-to-eat foods are likely to enter the recycling stream.
