Bangladesh: Activists pushed for e-scrap management laws at a meeting in Dhaka, one of the world’s most populous cities. One activist said the country has no e-scrap management policy, which leads to people dumping old electronics.
U.K.: Collections of electronics and electrical appliances are on track to meet this year’s targets, according to CIWM. More than 434,740 metric tonnes (479,220 short tons) have been collected so far.
Spain: According to marronyblanco.com, Spain has become the first country in the European Union to mandate reuse over recycling in its e-scrap management law. The government sets targets for OEMs to reuse 3 percent of computer products and small appliances in 2017 and 4 percent in 2018.
