Aluminum packaging manufacturer Ball Corp. acquired a majority stake in European beverage can manufacturer Benepack.

Pennsylvania’s Centre County Recycling and Refuse Authority awarded more than $22,000 in mini-grants to provide funding for projects that improve recycling education and collection of source-separated materials the authority processes.

The Massachusetts Extended Producer Responsibility Commission voted to recommend further study of EPR for packaging.

ReMA named Paul Hartgen as senior vice president of growth, strategy and operations.

Resource Recycling, Inc., is partnering with Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona and the Secondary Materials and Recycled Textiles Association (SMART), with support from the California Product Stewardship Council, for the 2026 Textile Recovery Summit Feb. 23-25.

US Plastics Pact released a position paper on extended producer responsibility.

Emerald Packaging announced that over the past year it had replaced 1 million pounds of virgin PE with PCR material.

The EU Parliament provisionally agreed to a 15% recycled plastic mandate for new vehicles within six years of implementation, which moves to 25% within 10 years.

The French Senate voted to remove a proposed tax on plastic packaging that is associated with national EPR law.

Polyolefins recycler Plastic Recycling Inc. received a $200,000 recycling market development grant from the Indiana Department of Environmental Management.

EU’s RecyClass updated its recyclability evaluation protocol for PET bottle labels and adhesives.

Call2Recycle Canada and the city of Lethbridge, Alberta, collected more than 6,600 pounds of used batteries during the province’s first curbside household battery pickup event, over 10 days in November.

The Massachusetts Extended Producer Responsibility Commission voted to recommend that state legislators pursue an EPR law for electronics.

Battery recycler Redwood Materials launched its lithium-ion battery collection bins in the San Francisco Bay Area and northern Nevada this week, and in November partnered with Audi dealerships in the US to provide recycling drop-off points for consumer devices and rechargeable household batteries.
