The Recycling Partnership (TRP) has named industry veteran Greg Saxon its next CEO.
Saxon comes to the nonprofit organization from PedalPoint Recycling and PedalPoint LifeCycle Solutions, where he led efforts to increase material recovery and strengthen circular economy outcomes. Prior to that, he held leadership roles at Johnson & Johnson, PlanITROI and Aventiv Technologies.
“What drew me to The Recycling Partnership is its unique ability to bring together diverse stakeholders around practical solutions that strengthen recycling and advance a more circular economy,” he said. “Throughout my career, I have believed that lasting change happens when organizations align around a shared purpose, and I see the partnership as one of the nation’s most effective examples of that approach in action.”
The Virginia-based nonprofit acts as a coalition to direct funds toward improving recycling systems nationwide. Its focus is on supply, demand and public policy, tackling system challenges that leadership said no single entity or policy can fix.
TRP leadership said Saxon will help guide the organization as the national residential recycling system continues its transition. One in five residents live in states with extended producer responsibility (EPR) laws. TRP offers guidance surrounding that and other initiatives, also publishing reports relating to recycling while providing resources and lobbying for policy-related changes.
Saxon takes over for Keefe Harrison, who founded TRP in 2014 and announced her departure in the spring. She said Saxon “understands the complexity and urgency of this work, and he brings both the practical experience and people-centered leadership needed for this next chapter.”
Saxon was chosen during a months-long national selection process by the organization’s Board of Directors. Also a Navy veteran, he takes over effective July 20. Harrison will stay on in an advisory role through the end of the month.
No strategy or programming changes are planned at TRP for the 2026-27 cycle.
