News from The Break Free from Plastic Pollution Act, Saint Paul, Minn. and more

AMCS’s winter 2023 update will contain more powerful digital tools for recycling organizations, including more automation. 

The Beyond the Bag Consortium released its 2023 impact report, finding that it now has 16 retailers engaged, reaching 73,000 stores. 

The Break Free from Plastic Pollution Act was reintroduced in the U.S. Senate, drawing praise from environmental groups and criticism from the plastics industry.

cieTrade partnered with Freightview to streamline freight management for domestic shippers.

The Northeast Resource Recovery Association (NRRA) finished its U.S. Department of Agriculture grant-funded Recycling Tools of the Trade project.

The Plastics Industry Association released a new video on Niagara Bottling as part of its advocacy campaign “Recycling is Real.”  

The city of Saint Paul, Minn. opened a request for proposal for residential solid waste, yard waste, bulky items and recyclables collection. 

The U.S. EPA released two more reports on food waste, one quantifying methane emissions from landfilled food and one that updates recommendations for managing wasted food.
