PetroChem Wire: Prices up for recycled frac melt HDPE

Recycled HDPE fractional melt pellet and flake prices followed generic prime and off-grade HDPE higher at the start of September.

Clean mixed colors regrind, both post-industrial and post-consumer, sold for 37 to 38 cents per pound delivered U.S. South (35 to 36 cents per pound FOB) at the beginning of the month, up 4 cents per pound from late August.

HDPE mixed color frac melt repro material of like quality sold in the 47 to 50 cents per pound range, FOB U.S. South, up 2.5 cents per pound.

In the prime HDPE market, commodity-grade generic prime blow molding HDPE was pegged at 60 cents per pound railcar delivered north of Houston on Sept. 1, up 2.5 cents from the middle of August.
