Foxway Circular UK wins King’s Award for refurb licensing platform

Foxway Circular UK Ltd., a circular tech solutions provider that is a part of Foxway Group, has received a King’s Award for Enterprise in the innovation category for its SMART cloud platform, which automates compliant Windows licensing for refurbished devices. The company runs a refurbishment facility near London employing around 200 people.

SMART is a cloud‑based system that injects genuine Microsoft Windows licenses and prepares refurbished laptops and PCs to meet Microsoft’s Out‑of‑Box Experience (OOBE) standards, so individual refurbishers do not need to maintain their own licensing infrastructure. According to Foxway, the platform is now used by more than 800 refurbishers across over 50 countries, ranging from small independents to global ITAD providers.

The tool is presented as a response to one of the main barriers to scaling circular IT: supplying refurbished devices that are compliant, trusted and ready for resale, particularly within the Microsoft Authorized Refurbisher ecosystem where access to legitimate digital licenses is a critical requirement. Foxway says SMART helps users reduce compliance risk, improve operational efficiency and build customer confidence in refurbished Windows devices.

The King’s Award is the UK’s highest official business honor. In 2026, only 185 organizations nationally received an award across all categories.
