Equipment Spotlight: Westeria’s AirStar air separator

EFactor3 has introduced the AirStar evolution air separator by Westeria to the U.S. market, the companies announced in a March press release.

Manufactured by Westeria, a German company with over 60 years of experience, the AirStar offers “a turnkey solution for companies looking to enhance their sorting processes, reduce energy consumption and optimize operational efficiency,” they wrote.

The new system brings energy savings of 30% or more compared to conventional air separators, according to the news release, as well as a fully adjustable fan system for optimized air flow and noise reduction. Electric adjustments for the separator drum, feed belt and nozzle angle allow operators to easily fine-tune the performance.

With modular configurations and working widths from 1 to 3 meters, the companies said the AirStar can adapt to a wide range of streams, including municipal solid waste, plastics recycling, scrap and industrial material. Live demonstrations, technical consultations and on-site assessments are available to interested companies.

“The AirStar evolution is engineered for seamless operation and easy maintenance, making it ideal for U.S. recycling facilities seeking to improve productivity with minimal disruption,” the companies wrote.
