Glass recycling company Aero Aggregates is planning a new facility in Massachusetts to process glass bottles into foamed aggregate for construction.
The Eddystone, Pa.-headquartered company has been expanding since 2020 and added facilities in California and Florida.
Aero Aggregates of Massachusetts, a subsidiary of Aero Aggregates of North America, just received a grant of up to $200,000 from the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection to build a container glass processing facility in Southbridge, Mass. Grant funds will help the company purchase front-end glass cleaning and processing equipment.
The grant was part of more than $950,000 given to six companies during this round of funding from the Recycling and Reuse Business Development Grant program. Since 2016, it has awarded $5.3 million in grants to Massachusetts recycling businesses.
