A major enterprise resource planning software platform will provide clients with access to Bloom ESG’s environmental impact reporting calculator, and another major ITAD firm has adopted Bloom’s calculator and agreed to provide data that will bolster Bloom’s reporting capabilities.
Bloom, headquartered in London, on July 14 announced the deal with Makor ERP. Enterprise resource planning (ERP) software provides a suite of tools that essentially allow an ITAD firm to consolidate all of its administrative functions into a single system and database. Makor’s platform is a popular option in the ITAD space.
The partnership means companies that use Makor will have access to its environmental impact calculator and will therefore be able to deliver impact reports to their clients, all within the ERP system.
“Makor currently powers hundreds of ITAD and electronics recycling facilities, supporting end-
to-end operations from asset intake to downstream tracking,” the companies wrote in a release. “By integrating Bloom’s tools into its platform, Makor will expand its offering to include best-in-class ESG capabilities—helping clients meet rising demand for sustainability metrics and regulatory compliance.”
Makor previously explored environmental impact reporting with a “Customer Impact Portal” it made available to clients beginning in 2019.
Separately, Bloom on July 8 announced that global ITAD firm EPC will begin using the company’s impact calculator to quantify the environmental benefits associated with device reuse and recycling. The calculator has previously been adopted by other high-profile ITAD companies and has been endorsed by the e-Stewards certification standard.
EPC will not only use the calculator, but it will feed data back to EPC to improve it. The company agreed to “share detailed model-level data on 100,000 product types across more than 7,000 manufacturers,” according to a release.
“This proprietary data, collected from EPC’s primary dismantling and refurbishment operations,
will supercharge Bloom’s reporting capabilities, giving clients industry-leading insights into the
environmental outcomes of their IT asset management strategies,” Bloom wrote, adding that, “for ITAD clients, the enhanced data will translate into richer, more accurate reporting – helping
them meet ESG demands and communicate sustainability outcomes with confidence and
credibility.”
