Our top stories from July 2016

byEditorial Staff
August 3, 2016
in E-Scrap

E-Scrap News readers were drawn last month to a variety of reports on CRT glass, including an opinion piece arguing for landfilling of the material and a feature from our print edition.

The list below shows the five E-Scrap News online articles with the most unique page views during the month of July.

1 | CRT stream does not flow evenly nationwide Collection figures from two West Coast states suggest CRT volumes are beginning to decline, but that trend isn’t playing out everywhere.

2 | Rising metals values pull minerals producer into e-scrap refining A Nevada mining and refining company announced it will start accepting e-scrap – specifically, ground up circuit boards from computers.

3 | In My Opinion: It’s time to talk about landfilling CRT glass The current drive to recycle or repurpose CRT glass is leading the e-scrap industry into uncharted territory. CRT glass has lost its marketability and, with that, the e-scrap industry has lost its answer for the recycling of the CRTs.

4 | From promises to piles A feature in the most recent edition of E-Scrap News magazine tracks the multifaceted meltdown of CRT outlet Closed Loop Refining and Recovery.

5 | In My Opinion: A recycled solution in search of a problem The Secure E-Waste Export and Recycling Act (SEERA) is just the latest attempt to enact unnecessary legislation to restrict the export of used electronic products.
