AMP and hauler Waste Connections held a groundbreaking for the first AI-driven recycling plant, in Commerce City, Colorado. 

CalRecycle is accepting applications for Beverage Container Redemption Innovation Grants (RIG5) that range from $500,000 to $10 million per applicant, to help fund mobile unit programs, reverse vending machines and bag drop programs for dealer cooperatives.

New data from the nonprofit Container Recycling Institute shows that beverage container redemption rate in Connecticut increased from 44% to 65% between 2023 and 2024 following improvements to the state’s deposit return system for bottles.

Second-hand clothing company Garson and Shaw released a new report that explores how other countries handle the textile waste crisis and urges the US to support used clothing exports.

Georgia-Pacific announced that CEO Christian Fischer will retire at the end of October, and Mark Luetters of parent company Koch will serve as interim.

Industrial packaging company Greif announced it will close its steel and polymer drum manufacturing facility in California by September, citing a plan for more focused operations.

Recycling solution company LRS acquired GHW, an Indianapolis-based waste company, to expand its operations in the region.

The nonprofit Recycle Colorado announced it is seeking applications for its board of directors.

The Solid Waste Association of North America is accepting nominations for its 2025 awards program, honoring outstanding achievements in waste and resource management across North America.
