News from NextCycle Washington, Reverse Logistics Group and more

The California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery published its latest SB 54 Report to Legislature.

Closed Loop Partners’ Composting Consortium launched a grant program with the U.S. Composting Council and Biodegradable Products Institute.

KIND launched a curbside-recyclable paper wrapper for its snack packaging.

The National Waste & Recycling Association and the U.S. Forest Service launched a public service campaign focused on safe battery recovery, responsible recycling and restoring public trust that “Recycling is Real.” 

The National Waste & Recycling Association and the Solid Waste Association of North America signed a memorandum of understanding, strengthening their commitment to collaboration on key industry issues including safety, education and advocacy. NWRA and Informa Markets also announced a four-show, eight-year partnership agreement to continue producing WasteExpo and to jointly launch a new biennial Waste Summit. 

NextCycle Michigan chose 17 small businesses and others to receive consulting and other support services as they develop their ideas in material reuse, recycling and organics recovery.

NextCycle Washington is also holding its pitch showcase on May 19 at the Northern Quest Casino Resort in Airway Heights, Washington. 

GreenBlue’s Recycled Material Standard, a third-party certification program, is seeking volunteers for a Paper Technical Development Committee, which will create a paper-specific recycling certification module. Volunteers must submit applications by May 15.

Reverse Logistics Group and other organizations launched a new training resource to help companies comply with extended producer responsibility laws across multiple states.
