North American industry advocacy group Ameripen announced its executive director, Dan Felton, would step down Nov. 1 to lead another organization.

Cambrio Roasters, a company that produces coffee pods compatible with Keurig machines, rolled out a line of aluminum coffee pods, billing them as “a recyclable alternative” to traditional PP pods, which have a national acceptance rate of 3%, according to The Recycling Partnership. Keurig has struggled to increase the recyclability of its PP pods in recent years.

Equipment supplier Amut announced Amut Green Extrusion Days will be held on Oct. 7-9 at its global headquarters in Novara, Italy.

Home project retailer Home Depot announced it had eliminated EPS foam and PVC film in new packaging for its private-brand products sold in the U.S., Canada and online. The company replaced the plastics with molded pulp and paper. 

Niagara Cares and composite lumber maker Polywood partnered with Sammie’s Buddy Bench Project to add nearly 60 recycled plastic Buddy Benches to communities throughout the U.S.

Energy management firm Schneider Electric and chemical recycler Gr3n will partner to scale up Gr3n’s new PET recycling technology.  

Iconic plasticware maker Tupperware filed for bankruptcy protection. The food-storage brand introduced two products in 2020 incorporating chemically recycled polymers.
