News from Oakland, California, Reloop North America and more

U.S. container manufacturer Arglass, which operates a 110,000-short-tons-per-year bottle plant in Valdosta, Georgia that uses some recycled feedstock, announced Ron Holmes will serve as vice president of sales, marketing and sustainability.

The ECO Waste Tracker, announced Jan. 17, allows companies to track weights without manually weighing dumpsters, which can help California businesses comply with SB 1383. 

Oakland, California residents who were overcharged for some multi-family dwelling recycling services between July 1, 2015 and Dec. 31, 2021 may be eligible for a refund payment based on a settlement between the city of Oakland and California Waste Solutions. 

Reloop North America launched a podcast series called Redemption, focused on deposit return systems.

The REMADE (Reducing Embodied Energy And Decreasing Emissions) Institute announced details of its 2024 tech summit and conference, to be held April 10-11. The organization is a collaboration between the U.S. Department of Energy and numerous recycling and energy stakeholders.

Compostable packaging company TIPA partnered with North American cannabis company Wyld to create packaging for cannabis products.
