Recycling stakeholders in the Lone Star State are preparing a plan that will point lawmakers toward strategies for boosting recycling.
On June 1, a statewide survey will launch to collect information about recycling and manufacturers’ use of recovered materials in Texas, as well as to evaluate several key economic issues in greater detail. According to a press release, survey results will be made available alongside the Recycling Market Development Plan (RMDP).
The confidential, online survey will allow participants to report their recycling data for the 2019 calendar year. Responses will be accepted until Aug. 31.
A result of legislation passed last year, the RMDP will be developed by a project team of Burns & McDonnell, the State of Texas Alliance for Recycling (STAR) and Circular Matters. Burns and McDonnell developed the Study on the Economic Impacts of Recycling (SEIR) in Texas in 2017.
