The national average price of post-consumer PET beverage bottles and jars rose marginally in July, now at 3.20 cents per pound, compared to 2.86 cents per pound this time last month. Most regional contracts are still trading in low ranges. One year ago this grade was trading at an average 10.22 cents per pound.
The national average price of curbside post-consumer natural HDPE dropped, from 57.13 cents per pound to the current 52.75 cents. The average price was 58.50 cents this time last year.
The national average price of color HDPE dropped, from 13.13 cents last month, to 11.06 cents per pound. This compares to a low 3.56 cents one year ago.
The national average price of post-consumer PP is down this month, from 14.75 cents to 11.88 cents per pound. By comparison, PP was 6.13 cents one year ago.
The national average price of A-grade film dropped, from 15 cents to 13.25 cents per pound. This grade traded at 19.06 cents one year ago. B-grade film also dropped, from 4.0 to 3.0 cents per pound. C-grade film remains at a low -0.56 cents per pound.
The national average price for sorted, baled aluminum cans (UBCs) remains steady at 93 cents per pound. The average was 83.75 cents this time last year.
Sorted, baled steel cans also remain steady this month, at an average $200 per ton. Steel cans were averaging $168 per ton one year ago.
Sorted residential papers (PS 56) remain in the $40-$45 per ton range. This compares to $56 per ton one year ago. Mixed paper (PS 54) is also steady, at an average $28-30 per ton. This compares to $36 per ton this time last year. Sorted office papers (PS 37) are firm, trading at an average $137 per ton. This compares to $130 per ton this time last year.
The national average price for OCC (PS 11) remains steady, in the $75-80 per ton range. This compares to $70 per ton one year ago.
