The national average price of post-consumer PET beverage bottles and jars rose marginally in June, now at 2.86 cents per pound, compared to 2.24 cents per pound this time last month. Most regional contracts are still trading in low ranges. One year ago this grade was trading at an average 14.99 cents per pound.
The national average price of curbside post-consumer natural HDPE dropped, from 84.50 cents per pound to the current 57.13 cents. The average price was 70.13 cents this time last year.
The national average price of color HDPE dropped, from 15.38 cents last month, to 13.13 cents per pound. This compares to a low 4.13 cents one year ago.
The national average price of post-consumer PP is down this month, from 19.69 cents to 14.75 cents per pound. By comparison, PP was 8.19 cents one year ago.
The national average price of A-grade film remains steady, at 15 cents per pound. This grade traded at 19.06 cents one year ago. B-grade film dropped from 6.69 to 4.0 cents per pound. C-grade film remains at a low -0.56 cents per pound.
The national average price for sorted, baled aluminum cans (UBCs) moved up from 89 cents to 93 cents per pound. The average was 83.75 cents this time last year.
Sorted, baled steel cans also moved up marginally, from $195 to an average $200 per ton. Steel cans were averaging $168 per ton one year ago.
Sorted residential papers (PS 56) are up $5 per ton, now in the $40-$45 per ton range. This compares to $56 per ton one year ago. Mixed paper (PS 54) is also trading up $5, now at an average $28-30 per ton. This compares to $39 per ton this time last year. Sorted office papers (PS 37) remain steady, at an average $124 per ton. This grade traded in the $130 per ton level this time last year.
The national average price for OCC (PS 11) is up an average $10-12 per ton, now trading in the $70-75 per ton range. This is back to the same level as one year ago.
