Envision Plastics has completed its project to boost its capacity to produce EcoPrime, the reclaimer’s food-grade, post-consumer resin.

Company officials on Nov. 15 held a grand opening of the multimillion-dollar expansion at Envision’s Reidsville, N.C. plant, according to a press release. The project, first announced in June, increases the reclaimer’s ability to produce recycled PE and PP by 50%.

EcoPrime is covered by an FDA letter of no objection for use at up to 100% PCR in food and drink packaging.

A year ago, Envision announced a deal to sell EcoPrime to plastics giant LyondellBasell.

With EcoPrime production facilities in Reidsville and Chino, Calif., Envision Plastics is a division of Altium Packaging, formerly known as Consolidated Container Company.
