Recycled HMW HDPE prices for both pellet and flake were down last week reflecting an oversupply of HMW scrap drums and intermediate bulk containers in the southern U.S.
Regrind was offered at 22 cpp f.o.b. U.S. South, with buying interest closer to 19-20 cpp. That’s down at least a penny from the previous week and down 4 cpp from September 9. Repro HMW HDPE was 44-46 cpp f.o.b. U.S. South last week, also down a penny from the previous week, and about 3 cpp from early September.
Prices for HDPE HMW bales have been consistently lower recently, and were done last week at 12 cpp f.o.b. US South, a 6 cpp reduction from mid-September.
