Mobile device reverse logistics and remarketing firm Alchemy has opened a refurbishment facility in Miami.
Headquartered in Dublin, Alchemy ships used phones, tablets and smart watches in the U.S. and elsewhere around the world. The company sells directly to consumers and businesses through its online store, LoopMobile, as well as to wholesalers.
The Florida facility will have the capacity to process 60,000 mobile devices per month, according to a press release.
“Alchemy is on a growth mission and our new site in Miami is key to that,” James Murdock, co-founder of Alchemy, stated in the release. “With more space on the ground to refresh devices, the greater our ability to keep up with the incredible demand for quality, affordable, refurbished tech, and the better we can do for the planet.”
The company operates large technology centers in Kildare, Ireland, and Newcastle-under-Lyme in the U.K. It has other facilities for warehousing, device triage and grading, packing and shipping in the U.S., Australia, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, South Korea, Spain and Taiwan. In the U.S., other than Miami, Alchemy has locations in Bloomington, Ind., and Lowell, Mass. According to the release, the company, which was started in 2017, achieved $443 million in annual revenue five years after its founding.
