The national average price of post-consumer PET beverage bottles and jars remained steady this month, now averaging 2.61 cents per pound, compared to 2.63 cents per pound this time last month. Most regional contracts are still trading in low ranges. One year ago this grade was trading at an average 5.09 cents per pound.
The national average price of curbside post-consumer natural HDPE was down marginally this month, from 37.25 cents per pound to the current 36.50 cents. The average price was 44.13 cents this time last year.
The national average price of color HDPE is up this month, from 6.44 cents last month to 8.66 cents per pound. This compares to a low 2.66 cents one year ago.
The national average price of post-consumer PP remains steady this month, now at 6.06 cents per pound, compared to 6.50 cents last month. By comparison, PP was 5.63 cents one year ago.
The national average price of A-grade film remains steady at 13.19 cents per pound. This grade traded at 18.31 cents one year ago. B-grade film remains unchanged at 4.5 cents per pound. C-grade film remains at a low -0.63 cents per pound.
The national average price for sorted, baled aluminum cans (UBCs) is up marginally, now at a national average of 96.56 cents per pound. The average was 78.44 cents this time last year.
Sorted, baled steel cans also remain steady this month, at an average $198 per ton. Steel cans were averaging $158 per ton one year ago.
Sorted residential papers (PS 56) are up again $5/ton, now in the $50-$55 per ton range. This compares to $52 per ton one year ago. Mixed paper (PS 54) is also up $5, at an average $35-40 per ton, compared to $31 per ton this time last year. Sorted office papers (PS 37) are also up $5, now averaging $146 per ton, compared to $125 per ton this time last year.
The national average price for OCC (PS 11) is up $10 per ton, now at an average $90 per ton. This compares to an average $67 per ton one year ago.
