Dow Chemical Co. has signed on as a funder for The Recycling Partnership to help boost recycling of plastic packaging.
Dow becomes the 23rd member of the private-sector-funded nonprofit group, which works to improve the curbside recycling infrastructure across the U.S.
“We appreciate that Dow is actively engaging in real world efforts to improve the sustainability and recyclability of plastic packaging,” Keefe Harrison, The Recycling Partnership’s executive director, stated in a press release.
The collaboration is part of Dow’s efforts to attain its 2025 sustainability goals.
“Dow is dedicated to finding solutions that increase recovery rates for plastic packaging,” Karen Carter, North America commercial vice president for Dow Packaging and Specialty Plastics, stated in the press release.
In 2015, The Recycling Partnership helped deliver 165,000 curbside carts to cities across the country. It provided funding to recycling programs serving 1.2 million households.
