PET clear regrind from curbside bottles and containers was done at 38 cents per pound FOB Midwest at the beginning of this week, up a penny from a week earlier.
PET staple fiber clear regrind was done at 31 cents per pound FOB East Coast, also up a penny.
In the prime PET market, March bottle-grade PET was up half a cent per pound at the end of last week to 52.25 cents per pound, railcar, delivered Chicago, as U.S. PET producers adjusted invoicing to match rising crude prices.
PET raws were seen increasing 2 cents per pound for March invoicing by U.S.-based PET producers. This could net to an increase of 2 cents per pound in the cost of prime bottle-grade PET.
