Liberty Tire Recycling is acquiring three Gulf Coast companies, expanding its collection, processing and recycled material capabilities in Texas and Louisiana.
The company acquired All American Tire Recycling, Colt Tire Recycling and Genan Inc., part of Liberty’s strategy of bringing together established regional operators, said Liberty Tire Recycling CEO Thomas Womble. “We look forward to combining our expertise with their proven success to provide customers across the Gulf Coast with expanded capabilities, stronger regional service and new opportunities for sustainable end-of-life tire management.”
Liberty processes more than 215 million scrap tires annually and recovers over 81% of collected materials for beneficial reuse, the company said.
Founded by Tom and Jodi Parker and based in Fort Worth, Texas, All American Tire Recycling specializes in crumb rubber production.
Louisiana-based Colt Tire Recycling, founded by Kip and Sydney Vincent, supplies recycled rubber for civil engineering applications. Tires are made using synthetic rubber (SBR, or styrene-butadiene rubber), in addition to natural rubber from trees.
Houston-based Genan operates one of North America’s largest tire recycling facilities, producing crumb rubber, micronized rubber powders and rubber granules used in applications ranging from playground surfaces to industrial products.
Liberty said it intends to maintain continuity for customers and employees by retaining senior members of each company’s leadership team as the businesses join Liberty.
The company, which says it collects hundreds of millions of end-of-life tires each year, said the expansion will increase the supply of recycled rubber, fiber and steel for infrastructure, manufacturing, sports surfaces and other end markets while supporting broader circular economy goals.
