Chemical company BASF is building a commercial-scale battery recycling plant in Germany that will be able to handle 15,000 tons of electric vehicle batteries and battery production scrap annually. 

Blancco Technology Group has achieved carbon neutral status for 2021 through investment in two renewable wind energy projects in India, with support from sustainability consultancy Avieco.

The California Office of Administrative Law (OAL) recently approved regulations that increase payment rates to recyclers. 

Call2Recycle published e-bike battery safety guidance as part of National Safety Month, including how to safely package e-bike lithium-ion batteries and transport them to recycling facilities. 

A German government-funded e-scrap facility in Ghana is about 65% complete and will be operational by October 31.

Sustainable Electronics Recycling International (SERI) signed an agreement with the National Accreditation Board for Certification Bodies (NABCB) India to allow NABCB to start the process of accrediting R2 Standard Bodies in the country. 

Umicore wants to build the world’s largest battery recycling facility, capable of processing 150,000 tons per year, somewhere in Europe. The $525 million plant is scheduled to open in 2026.
