Mobile device usage will boost ITAD market

A new report predicts the IT asset disposition (ITAD) market will grow by an average of nearly 10 percent each year through 2022, an increase driven largely by mobile devices.

The report by Research and Markets says the mobile device market will grow the fastest due to an increasing number of offices going mobile: More and more employees are using their own devices at work and more companies are opting for mobile devices over stationary computers.

In terms of end users, the report prognosticates the media and entertainment industry will require ITAD services at a high rate in the future, followed by educational institutions.

Despite a prediction the industry will be worth $20.09 billion by 2022, the report outlines some challenges that could hinder progress toward that number, particularly a lack of awareness and high service costs.
