Eastman will chemically recycle end-of-life conference lanyards from the 2024 Sustainable Fashion Forum. The specially designed lanyards are being supplied by textile producer Debrand, which created them with durability and reuse in mind

ICIS launched a new recycled PP index tracking prices in Asia.

Plastic bag producer Inteplast Group acquired Brown Paper Goods, a paper packaging producer. 

Jenna Jambeck, a well-known plastics researcher and professor at the University of Georgia, was named the Southeastern Conference 2024 Professor of the Year.

Haircare products company John Paul Mitchell Systems redesigned its Tea Tree line of products to include 100% post-consumer recycled plastic in its bottles and jars as well as 25% PCR in its tubes. The company also rolled out new labels that don’t have to be removed before recycling.

Oceana report estimates Amazon’s plastic packaging waste increased 9.1% in 2022.

The Oregon Beverage Recycling Cooperative hired Devon Morales as its new vice president of external affairs.

Starlinger published details about its equipment being used in an Indonesian plastics recycling facility that produces RPET for Coca-Cola Indonesia, which rolled out 100% RPET bottles for some of its drinks last year.

Trex installed its composite decking material at a private campground operated by REI in Utah. REI is part of the NexTrex film collection program, accepting plastic film in drop-off receptacles at its stores.

UBQ Materials, an Israel-based producer of a composite material made from recycled plastics and other municipal solid waste, announced it will work with compounder Teknor Apex on a line of products aimed at durable goods markets.
