Oregon producers, local governments and recyclers will get a formal say in shaping the next phase of the state’s packaging EPR program.

Circular Action Alliance (CAA) Oregon on July 30 opened a series of consultation webinars that will feed into the organization’s 2028-2032 program plan, the document that will govern implementation of the state’s paper and packaging extended producer responsibility law once its current plan period ends.

The sessions are open to producers, local governments, service providers, end markets, nongovernmental organizations, regulators and anyone else with a stake in how the Recycling Modernization Act will play out over its next stretch.

CAA Oregon says the feedback gathered will directly inform program priorities, implementation strategies and any new approaches folded into the 2028-2032 plan.

Three webinars on the calendar cover Eco-modulation and REM (Aug. 12, 11 a.m. PT), Education, Outreach and Equity (Aug. 19, 11 a.m. PT) and Materials, Uniform Statewide Collection List and RecycleOn Centers (Sept. 2, 11 a.m. PT).

Each session will walk through the relevant statutory requirements, lay out CAA’s proposed direction for that topic and take questions from attendees.

CAA plans to post fact sheets about a week ahead of each session, with presentation materials and recordings made available afterward.

The consultation series builds on the framework CAA established with Oregon’s first program plan, which has been in place since the RMA took effect.
