Cullet LLC has acquired the assets of Cleveland-based Repeat Glass LLC, establishing a new Ohio subsidiary to anchor its Midwest expansion.
The acquisition marks the company’s first operational platform in its push to build regional glass reuse and recycling infrastructure across the United States.
Repeat Glass founder Jamie Arnold launched curbside commercial glass collection in the Cleveland-Akron area after relocating there in 2022.
“Glass waste has tremendous value; we simply need scalable systems to capture it,” Arnold said. “This partnership allows us to grow the operation while remaining grounded in people and relationships within our local communities.”
Under the deal, Arnold will retain a “significant” equity stake in the newly formed Cullet Ohio and step into the role of vice president of business development. Cullet CEO and founder Gregory Leibert will continue overseeing the company’s broader strategy, expansion efforts and capital formation.
Among Cullet Ohio’s next steps is prioritizing source-separated glass collection and local processing in Northeast Ohio. The subsidiary intends to broaden its network of community, hospitality, municipal and producer partnerships while generating manufacturing-grade cullet for container-to-container recycling. This closed-loop outcome has been hampered by a lack of regional infrastructure, the company said.
Leibert added the acquisition is a deliberate first step towards a long-term national buildout, one centered on reconnecting local collection to end markets.
“Source separation and regional infrastructure are the foundations for rebuilding America’s glass economy into a circular system,” he said. “We’re not simply collecting glass; we’re redesigning how it moves through communities so it retains its highest value. Cullet Ohio represents the first step in building durable, scalable platforms that reconnect local collection to manufacturing, and soon reuse.”
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
