Assurant released its mobile trade-in and upgrade report and found that in the first quarter of the year the iPhone 12 is approaching the No. 1 trade-in spot, taking over from the iPhone 11. 

The California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery approved increases to the state program’s e-scrap reimbursement rates. The new recovery rate is $0.40 per pound for all covered e-scrap, while the combined recovery and processing rates are $1.13 per pound for CRTs and $1.15 per pound for non-CRTs.

Call2Recycle and the District of Squamish launched British Columbia’s first curbside battery collection program.

Cirba Solutions will handle all batteries returned at Batteries Plus locations nationwide. 

The Electrical Safety Foundation and the Recycled Materials Association partnered on a campaign to promote lithium-ion battery recycling. 

Electronics reseller Rekndle is working with R2-certified businesses and offering a warranty to entice more people to buy secondhand devices.

Recycling facility certifying organization The Electronics Reuse and Recycling Association announced it now has a member in the Kingdom of Bahrain, after Crown Industries joined. Vermont Gov. Phil Scott signed an amendment into law that adds rechargeable batteries, battery-containing devices and medium-format primary batteries to the existing battery stewardship program.
