News from Avery Dennison, Cortec Corporation and more

Electronics company Acer released a Chromebook made with PCR, including recycled resin recovered from marine environments. 

Label producer Avery Dennison introduced white and clear machine direction orientation film label facestocks made with 30% PCR. 

Circulate Capital, an investment firm focused on reducing marine plastics, announced that its first investment recipient, Indonesian recycling company Tridi Oasis, has formed a joint venture with global recycling company ALBA Group Asia, marking Circulate Capital’s first successful exit. Additionally, Circulate announced it provided additional financing to allow India-based Lucro to triple its capacity to recycle difficult-to-handle flexible plastic packaging. 

Specialty film manufacturer Cortec Corporation developed CorShield VpCI-220E, a film and bag technology with improved corrosion protection that is made with 30% PCR. 

The Pacific Northwest National Laboratory presented its recently developed chemical recycling technology at the American Chemical Society meeting in Chicago. 

Nonprofits Texan by Nature and Texans for Clean Water put on a video competition for all El Paso County, Texas high school students, as part of the group’s pilot PET Community Recycling Program in El Paso.
