News from Bunting, Return-It and more

Atlas Holdings completed its acquisition of Crown Paper Group, which owns a mill and containerboard plants in the Pacific Northwest and Western Canada. The producer uses post-consumer fiber in its products. 

Magnetic sorting equipment company Bunting appointed Robert Bunting as president and CEO. He is the son of former president and CEO Bob Bunting and grandson of the company’s founder, Walter Bunting.

The Canadian Beverage Container Recycling Association released its 2021 annual report, showing a 72% beverage container recovery rate in Manitoba. 

Investment firms Trailcreek Capital Group and Plexus Capital invested in Natural Upcycling, a food scraps processing company based in Rochester, N.Y., in partnership with Noblehurst Green Energy and Harry Cohen.

Colorado’s Producer Responsibility Program for Statewide Recycling is accepting applications for the Producer Responsibility Advisory Board, which will help shape how the state’s recently passed packaging extended producer responsibility law will be implemented. 

Return-It, a deposit container return program in British Columbia, has expanded by three vehicles its fleet of compressed natural gas-electric hybrid compaction trucks. 

Equipment company WEIMA installed its PUEHLER G.200 drainage press, which empties aluminum beverage cans and compresses the aluminum for recycling, at a metals recycling facility in York, S.C.
