Recycling of CRT panel glass becomes easier in California, and researchers are looking for the industry’s help in an analysis of facility safety.

CRT recycling: California’s governor has signed a bill into law opening up new avenues for the recycling of CRT panel glass. The bill allows scrap CRT panel glass to be recycled into new products, including tiles and radiation shielding glass.

Participants needed: The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) is looking for e-scrap recycling companies willing to to participate in a research project. The project focuses on whether health hazards are occurring in electronic recycling facilities.

New phone, new waste: The new iPhone 7 has no separate headphone jack, which means a lot of consumers might upgrade to new headphones. EBNonline is concerned that could create large amounts of seemingly unnecessary e-scrap.
