Ag container recycling sees more growth

byEditorial Staff
April 5, 2016
in Plastics

More than 10 million pounds of plastic pesticide containers were collected for recycling in 2015, according to the Ag Container Recycling Council.

The latest estimate from the group marks the sixth year in a row collection totals have exceeded the 8 million pound mark.

In total, 10.44 million pounds of containers were collected from farmers and the agricultural industry in 43 U.S. states during 2015. Collection totals were up about 4 percent compared with 2014.

For 2016, ACRC projects it will be able to fund the recycling of 11 million pounds of containers.

The ACRC has been voluntarily funding the recycling of pesticide containers since 1993.
