KAB receives $100,000 in grants

KAB groups receive $100,000 in grants

By Editorial Staff, Resource Recycling

Ten Keep America Beautiful (KAB) affiliates have been awarded a total of $100,000 in 2013 Think Green grants from Waste Management.

Each of the 10 groups, which are spread across the country, will receive a $10,000 Think Green grant. The money will enable KAB affiliates to pursue a variety of initiatives, including the revitalization of a public beach in Broward, Florida, and the launch of single-stream recycling in Pike County, Mississippi.

KAB's Larry Kaufman emphasized to Resource Recycling that the broad range of initiatives support the multi-front mission of KAB to sustain and develop the country's beauty through recycling, education and beautification programming.

Waste Management has supported KAB in the past and recently provided funds for its popular "Recycle Me" campaign. The Think Green grants are part of the company's Think Green campaign, aimed at deepening Waste Management's commitment to sustainability.
