PetroChem Wire: Recycled polystryrene price resumes downward slide
By Editorial Staff, Plastics Recycling Update
Nov. 21, 2013
Lackluster demand and ample supply continue to push recycled polystyrene prices lower in November.
HIPS white and mixed color pellet prices are down a penny, with white priced at 66-68 cents per pound FOB East Coast and mixed color at 60-63 cents per pound. On regrind, GPPS black is being offered at 27-28 cents per pound FOB East Coast, also down a penny from October offers. Prime HIPS prices in the first half of November fell 2 cents to $1.01 per pound, with weaker benzene prices exerting downward pressure on styrene.
