Plastics Make it Possible , a project of the American Chemistry Council, commissioned a survey for America Recycles day that found that only 37 percent of Americans say they're "doing enough for the environment," and less than half (46 percent) say they are "knowledgeable about what it takes to be eco-friendly in my daily life." Two-thirds of Americans say they would like to learn some simple steps that help the planet, and Plastics Make it Possible offers one easy approach: buy recycled.
In honor of America Recycles Day on November 15, the American Beverage Association launched "Recycle on the Go ," a program to increase collection of used cans and bottles. Piloted in Palm Beach County, Florida, the program provides bins around the community to increase away-from-home recycling.

Coca-Cola has announced it will provide plastic bottle recycling collection services for professional soccer's 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. Coke plans to provide approximately 100 collection points near the event venue in Rio de Janeiro.
