Higher scrap bale prices nudged recycled HDPE frac-melt dairy natural pellet prices up 2 cents per pound in February.
Business so far has averaged around 66 cents per pound FOB. Higher ethylene prices have also encouraged higher prices for various other grades of pellet and flake HDPE, including film, injection crate and drum grades. HDPE HMW drum flake prices were up 2 cents per pound in the first half of February, with business done at 50 cents per pound FOB.
Prime grade pricing was higher in early February too. From Jan. 31 to Feb. 13 U.S. Gulf spot blow mold HDPE rose from 75 cents per pound to 76.5 cents per pound.
