Volkswagen AG, headquartered in Wolfsburg, Germany, was awarded Patent No. 8,623,929 for a method describing low-metal-content plastic scrap resulting from shredded automobiles.
Patent No. 8,623,216 was awarded to Melbourne, Australia’s Orica Australia Pty Ltd., which describes a process for separating residual magnetic resins from a liquid stream.
Escanaffles, Belgium’s Futerro SA was given Patent No. 8,614,338 for a method of recycling polylactic acid (PLA) plastics.
Frank Levy, from Quogue, New York, and Sergio Dell’Orco, from Capalle, Italy, were awarded Patent No. 8,596,563, which describes a method and apparatus for recycling carpet.
