Patent Application No. 20130143974 has been filed by Krones AG, describing a method of decontaminating plastic flakes using a heating process.
Krones has also filed Patent Application No. 20130146105, which outlines a device for cleaning plastic chips.
ReCommunity Energy LLC has received Patent No. 8,459,466, which describes a system for sorting materials in a single-stream recycling facility by estimating the percent of the material that is fiber and the percent that is non-fiber.
Patent No. 8,455,588 has been awarded to Rutgers University, describing the use of recycled plastic in modular structural composites for construction and industrial applications. The patent has been licensed to Axion International Holdings.
Patent No. 8,466,205 has been awarded to Columbia Insurance for a new carpet recycling method.
Novana, Inc. has received Patent No. 8,465,684, which outlines a self-reinforcing plastic composite material.
A new plastic film recycling method is outlined in Patent No. 8,465,614, awarded to Mitsubishi Polyester.
