The Society of the Plastics Industry's Bioplastics Council has released a position paper, updating the group's stance on degradable additives in plastics. The Bioplastics Council is skeptical of claims made by additive manufacturers, saying such claims must be backed by third-party testing and verification.
The Coca-Cola Foundation and Keep America Beautiful have announced a new call for applications for the 2013 bin-grant program. According to the supervisor, plastic recycling costs the rural Southeast Washington county over $15,000 annually.
