Two Spanish inventors — Victorino Luengo Marin and Javier Guilarte Saen — have filed Patent Application No. 20120289753 which describes a method of recovering thermoplastic material through a depolymerization process.

Wilmington, Delaware-based INVISTA North America has filed Patent Application No. 20120282433 which describes a used carpet cleaning and recycling process.

Emerson Climate Technologies, Inc., of Sidney, Ohio, has filed Patent Application No. 20120282409 outlining a method of using nylon recovered from used carpet to manufacture components of a refrigeration system.
