The American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) released industry guidance meant to give consumers confidence on the recyclability of paper padded mailers. 

Reynolds Consumer Products and Dow announced the Hefty EnergyBag program is collaborating with ByFusion on a pilot project to turn hard-to-recycle plastic collected in Boise, Idaho into ByBlocks, a building material.

PepsiCo said it will use recycled composite produced by Israeli startup UBQ Materials in its pallets. UBQ is a bio-based thermoplastic produced from unsorted MSW, including mixed plastics, fiber and organics. 

Nonprofit electronics recycling company RecycleForce received a roughly $200,000 grant from the U.S. EPA for job training as the company expands into a larger facility. The EPA’s deputy administrator, Janet McCabe, who lives only a few miles away, attended a Feb. 11 celebration at RecycleForce.
