Private equity firm Ara Partners acquired British packaging company Petainer, which makes RPET bottles and PET refillable bottles, for an undisclosed amount. 

Hillenbrand released its 2021 sustainability report and announced it plans to acquire Herbold Meckesheim for $80.4 million.  

Missouri is the 20th state to pass a law that will regulate chemical recycling as manufacturing rather than solid waste disposal. 

Post-industrial plastics recycler Mumford Industries announced it will distribute its Retrieve plastic sleeves and bags via industrial equipment supplier Louis P. Batson for use as eco-friendly packaging for roll goods.

French sorting manufacturer Pellenc ST inaugurated its new Innovation Center in Pertuis on June 28, a 1,450-square-foot space for designing, prototyping and validating technologies such as cameras, sensors, artificial intelligence and robots.

Petcore Europe released a memorandum titled “PET – from recycling champion to recycling & reuse champion: state of play 2022,” which calls for a packaging policy hierarchy of reducing consumption, reusing and then recycling, in order to support the European Union’s ultimate goal of being climate neutral by 2050.

POLYSTYVERT, which focuses on developing a circular economy for styrene-based plastics, announced Nathalie Morin as its new CEO.

PureCycle is promoting Dustin Olson, current chief operating officer and chief manufacturing officer, to CEO effective August 5, 2022. Olson has been with PureCycle since 2021. 

The former Ward Recycling site in England will get a $29.8 million renovation so it can process 130,000 tons of flexible plastics per year for Sterling Polymers. The plant was formerly a paper recycling facility.
