The American Forest & Paper Association recently announced the winners of its 2014 Recycling Awards, which recognize outstanding paper recycling programs in three categories: Business Leadership, Community and School. Winners include the township of Nutley, New Jersey; the Metro Waste Authority in Des Moines, Iowa; and the Michael Dunn Center in Kingston, Tennessee. More information is available here.


ANN, Inc., the parent company of clothing retailers Ann Taylor and LOFT, announced its distribution center in Louisville, Kentucky has achieved the Gold Zero Waste Certification by the U.S. Zero Waste Business Council. ADS Waste Holdings, Inc., which operates as Advanced Disposal, announced John Spegal has been appointed chief operating officer. He will direct company-wide operations for Advanced Disposal’s footprint. Prior to joining Advanced Disposal, he spent more than six years with AIR-serv Group LLC as regional vice president and was responsible for East Coast operations.
