3 | PET stays on shore in 2011


The recycling rate for PET containers was static in 2011 due to continued lightweighting, sluggish sales of carbonated soft drinks and flat collections according to the latest report on PET recycling. The 2011 Report On Postconsumer PET Container Recycling Activity, released today by the National Association for PET Container Resources (NAPCOR) and the Association of Postconsumer Plastic Recyclers (APR), and produced by HDR Inc. and Moore Recycling Associates, as well as from internally-generated data by NAPCOR and the International Bottled Water Association (IBWA), details why the recycling rate for PET containers was essentially flat in 2011.
