Some buyers of post-consumer plastic bales recovered through Rhode Island's new statewide recycling program are expressing concern about the presence of plant-based PET in the collected material. However, the concerns of these buyers are simply not warranted.

Per-pound prices for both recycled polypropylene pellets and flakes dropped at least 4-5 cents in May, reflecting declining feedstock costs.
