6 | Industry and supplier news

Carpet America Recovery Effort (CARE), the primary nonprofit organization charged with advancing market-based solutions for carpet recycling and landfill diversion, has named Brendan McSheehy as chairman of its board of directors. CARE also recently named its Recycler of the Year: Wellman Plastics Recycling (WPR), a CARE partner and a supplier of engineering and thermoplastic resins. WPR currently collects more than 100 million pounds of post-consumer carpet per year and processes the material into nylon, polyester and polypropylene resin products. More information is available here.

U.K. plastics recycling firm Closed Loop Recycling has teamed with eco-minded cleaning products brand Ecover to create packaging made partially from recycled plastic pulled out of the ocean. Next year the partnership will aim to turn 3 metric tons worth of plastic marine debris into plastic packaging. For more, click here.
