2 | Time running out to score $20,000 in funding

The deadline to submit proposals to the 2014 Recycling Innovators Forum is fast approaching: Those interested in having their idea considered for the Forum have until April 30 to apply.

The Forum is seeking the top ideas in how to advance recycling, and possible topics ripe for innovation include driving consumer participation, developing plastics processing or collection methods, and improving recyclable quality. The individuals behind the top 10 ideas will be asked to present to a panel of judges and an assembled audience of approximately 200 recycling professionals.

Two $20,000 funding prizes will be awarded — one to the top idea backed by an enterprise or institution, and the other to the top idea backed by a single inventor or startup team.

The second annual Recycling Innovators Forum is sponsored by Alcoa, the American Chemistry Council, Coca-Cola Recycling, Resource Recycling (the parent company of this publication) and Waste Management. The competition will be held on Sept. 15, the day before the start of the annual Resource Recycling Conference in New Orleans. For more information about competing in, or attending, this free event, visit recyclinginnovators.com.
